SALLOW

EQUANIMITY

Sowing small seeds and growing fair flowers,
accepting insignificance and cultivating virtue,
the sage is unperturbed by failure or success.

Of healing herbs, refreshing fruits, cheering blooms,
the sage gives freely, careless of cost;
and through loss becomes enriched.

For all its blemishes,
adore the face of life.
With all its scars, cleave to the body of life.

Aware of all its faults, cherish the heart of life.

Less counting:
More blessing!

Life has 'its ups and downs', 'good times and bad times', 'the rough with the smooth'.
Failing to acknowledge this magnifies disappointment and dejection; and stunts the growth of 'resilience'.

 Imbalance is also manifested if the pursuit of pleasure, happiness, or euphoria, becomes addictive or obsessive.
This applies not just to the traditional 'vices' of drink, drugs and sex, but also to wealth, status, power - and virtue!
