LOOKING UP

IMBALANCING ACT

High tumbles to low; low grows to high.
Stinking manure feeds sweet-scented flowers.
The stone of wickedness keeps the edge of goodness keen.

High ideals hide low practices.
Uneven loads are prone to fall.
Unrealistic expectations breed discontent.

A light touch steers a steady course.
Common sense embraces uncommon wisdom.

The sage sets Tao on high, and rules from below.

Imbalancing?
Act!

When Tao flows smoothly: opposing forces form a dynamic partnership, and discordant elements become part of a balanced whole.
When Tao is hindered: balance becomes unsteady, suspicions arise, loyalties falter, enmities enlarge, and clashes become destructive.

Maintaining a healthy balance within a relationship, an organisation, a government, a life, is key to minimising conflicts and interventions.
Permit 'dangerous spaces' and broad platforms; give all opinions and all criticism fair exposure. Agree to differ, but pull together, not apart.
