CROZIERS

GETTING THE DRIFT

Balancing wind and current,
the sage makes progress,
this way, then that.

Mindful, becoming creative;
Mind-empty, becoming created;
As if breathing the essence of Tao.

Now capturing the moment;

Now releasing the moment;

The sage is an acrobat.

Positioning and timing can have a huge impact on the ease or difficulty of achieving a task, as shown most obviously in competitive sport.
They are also crucial factors in political and commercial strategy; and in transforming relationships or an individual's attitudes and outlook.

Tao attempts to develop an intuitive attunement to the 'timeless' rhythms, cycles and principles which underlie the course of events.
This is an attitude to living described as 'non-action' or 'work without effort'; an antithesis to 'making life difficult for oneself'.
